01 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website, submitting a registration, or engaging Bastel Pvt Ltd ("Bastel", "we", "us", "our") for any freight, customs, or trade-facilitation service, you ("Client", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.

02 About Bastel Pvt Ltd

Bastel Pvt Ltd is a Sri Lanka-based trade facilitation company offering freight handling, customs clearance, fumigation coordination, and export/import documentation support to exporters and importers operating locally and internationally.

03 Eligibility & Registration

To register as an Exporter, Importer, or both, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, or are authorised to register on behalf of your company.
• All information you provide — including your name, company name, contact details, TIN/VAT number, Business Registration (BR) number, trade category, commodity details, and any supporting images — is accurate, current, and complete.
• You are responsible for promptly updating your details if they change (e.g. a new BR number or contact address).

Bastel reserves the right to verify any registration details, request supporting documentation, and to accept, decline, or suspend any registration at its discretion.

04 Services Provided

Subject to a separate service agreement or quotation for each engagement, Bastel may provide: sea and air freight handling (FCL/LCL), customs clearance and CUSDEC processing, fumigation coordination, packing list and invoice preparation, Certificate of Origin processing, and related trade documentation and advisory services. Availability of any specific service is not guaranteed by registration alone.

05 Client Responsibilities

• Provide accurate cargo, commodity, and consignee/consignor information for every shipment.
• Ensure goods declared for export or import comply with Sri Lankan and destination-country laws, including restricted and prohibited goods regulations.
• Hold all licences, permits, and registrations (including valid TIN/VAT and BR numbers, where applicable) required for your trade activity.
• Respond promptly to requests for documentation needed to clear customs or process a shipment.

06 Fees & Payments

Registration on this website is free of charge. Fees for freight, customs clearance, or other services are quoted separately per shipment or engagement and are payable according to the terms agreed at the time of booking. Bastel is not liable for third-party charges such as shipping line freight, port authority fees, or government duties and taxes, which remain the Client's responsibility unless explicitly included in a quotation.

07 Documentation & Compliance

You authorise Bastel to prepare, submit, and process documentation on your behalf where engaged to do so (e.g. CUSDEC, packing lists, invoices, Certificates of Origin) based on the information and images you provide. You remain responsible for the accuracy of the underlying commercial and product information supplied.

08 Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including the Bastel name, logo, text, graphics, and design — is the property of Bastel Pvt Ltd and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written consent, except for your own personal reference in connection with your registration.

09 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bastel Pvt Ltd shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from delays, customs holds, carrier actions, force majeure events, or inaccurate information supplied by the Client. Bastel's total liability for any claim arising from a specific engagement shall not exceed the fees paid by the Client for that engagement.

10 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Bastel Pvt Ltd harmless from any claims, penalties, or losses arising from inaccurate declarations, prohibited goods, or non-compliance with applicable export/import laws attributable to information you provided.

11 Termination

Bastel may suspend or terminate a registration at any time if information provided is found to be false, misleading, or if activity on the account breaches these Terms. You may request closure of your registration at any time by contacting us.

12 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

13 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
